Club Registration

Every association will change their registration policy and time frame to meet what is most successful for their own members. Below are suggestions and recommendations based on what has worked at other associations. Use them or adjust them as necessary.

• Send mailers to previous players
• Send newsletters to families with registration information

• Pre-registration with discount

Begin two months prior to the start of the first practice

Note: Some organizations try to close registration three weeks prior to the start of practice in order to make sure that players are placed and coaches are found. However, many associations will allow players to register up to the first practice with the aims of getting more players.

Online registration

• Maintain website information including necessary forms

Onsite registration

• Choose location best suited for maximum turnout
• Partner with a sports store, restaurant, or schools

Registration Forms       

• Must have a copy of child's birth certificate with registration
• Put section on club registration forms for parents to sign up to coach
• Ask for sponsorship on the form
